Nutrition

To comply with the Child Care Food Program regulations, the Infant Meal Pattern lists the amount of food to be offered to children.

  • Breast milk, iron-fortified infant formula or a portion of both must be served for the entire first year.

  • Food within the meal pattern should be of the texture and consistency appropriate for the age of the child and may be served during a span of time consistent with the child's eating habits.

  • Children age one or older must be served the total minimum amount of food authorized per meal as stated in the meal pattern.
