What is Coordinated Child Care of Pinellas, Inc.?
Coordinated Child Care of Pinellas, Inc. (CCC) is a
private, not-for-profit corporation designated by Florida’s Agency
for Workforce Innovation and the Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas,
as the local service provider for child care scholarships and related
family and provider support services for Pinellas County families. This
designation is a result of CCC’s exceptional performance throughout
its 37-year history. CCC also administers Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten
Education Program (VPK) for Pinellas County. The VPK program was first
implemented in the fall of 2005 and offers 540 free instructional hours
for 4-year old children residing in the state of Florida.
CCC provides a sophisticated system that integrates
numerous funding sources into a seamless process that allows funding to
"follow" a child through a variety of eligibility categories,
helping to ensure continuity of care for children.
CCC is a stable and financially sound agency with staff
members who are very knowledgeable on child care related issues. We are
governed by a local volunteer Board who are part of the community we serve.
CCC provides an effective link to other services for children and families,
including education and employment organizations. CCC normally receives
funds for child care and family support services from the Early Learning
Coalition of Pinellas, the Juvenile Welfare Board Children's Services Council of Pinellas County , the Florida Department of Health, The Pinellas
County School Board, the United Way of Tampa Bay, the Florida Department
of Children and Families, and the City of St. Petersburg.
Parents who work or go to school may be eligible for
assistance from CCC. Parents who are eligible for the child care assistance
may chose from approximately 1,200 licensed child care providers. Licensing
requirements help to ensure basic health and safety standards are maintained.
Parents can also choose from approximately 400 child care providers that
achieve quality standards beyond minimum health and safety. These standards
are based on nationally recognized practices that help to ensure healthy
growth and development of children.
Our Child Care Resource and Referral Service helps parents
identify, locate, and select quality child care based on their needs.
The general public, as well as parents’ eligible for financial help,
need only call one phone number for this assistance
(547-5750).
